Resource Info
This confidence-boosting resource is designed to help your child recognise their abilities, achievements and goals. By reflecting on what they can do and have accomplished, as well as setting goals for the future, children can enhance their self-confidence and positive self-perception.
Directions: Provide your child with our amazing ‘Feeling Good About Me’ worksheet, where they can write about their skills and abilities and all the things they have achieved. These can be big or small achievements, such as completing a puzzle, learning to ride a bike, or receiving a good mark in a school test. After they have completed this part, we then shift the focus to the future. In the "My Goals" section, ask your child to write down realistic and meaningful goals they want to achieve. These can be personal, academic, or extracurricular.
Once the worksheet is complete, take some time to discuss their responses. Celebrate their existing abilities and achievements, and encourage them to pursue their goals and dreams with enthusiasm and determination.
Benefits:
• Increased self-confidence: Reflecting on their abilities and past achievements can boost your child's self-confidence and belief in their capabilities.
• Positive self-perception: By recognising their skills and accomplishments, children can be less critical and develop a higher sense of self-worth.
• Goal setting: Setting goals helps children focus their efforts and provides motivation for personal growth and achievement.
• Encourages self-reflection: This activity promotes self-reflection and introspection, allowing children to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their aspirations.
This activity is designed to boost your child's confidence by recognising their abilities, achievements, and goals. By completing the worksheet and reflecting on what they can do, have accomplished, and want to achieve, children can enhance their self-confidence, and self esteem, and motivate themselves to reach new goals.
