Kindness Rocks! Kindness Rocks is our new project featuring a series of downloadable and printable resources to help children learn that being kind rocks. Can they become a Kindness Rockstar?

It's the Festival of Kindness and we have four main headliners! The headline acts are your child's random acts of kindness...

This activity is all about encouraging children and teens to come up with their own random acts of kindness. What can they do to show kindness to others?

Random acts of kindness are spontaneous, selfless gestures or actions that are done to benefit or help others, often without expecting anything in return. These acts can be simple or more elaborate, and they are usually aimed at brightening someone's day, offering assistance, or making the world a better place through small, positive actions. Random acts of kindness can include things like:

  1. Holding the door open for someone.
  2. Writing someone a thank you card.
  3. Leaving out food for animals, such as birdseed.
  4. Complimenting a stranger.
  5. Assisting an elderly person.
  6. Volunteering your time to help a charitable cause.
  7. Helping a neighbour with a chore.
  8. Paying it forward (if you can).
  9. Cleaning up litter in your community.
  10. Donating a toy to charity.

The key element of random acts of kindness is that they are unplanned and motivated by a genuine desire to make someone's day better. These small acts can have a significant positive impact on individuals and communities, fostering goodwill and a sense of connection among people.

Directions: Have your child think of four random acts of kindness they can complete over the next week and write them in the rock stars.
