Inside ME! - Brain Headquarters - Children's Mental Health Week Resources 2025

Welcome to Inside ME! - Brain Headquarters, a creative and reflective resource designed to help children explore the inner workings of their minds. Inspired by the iconic Headquarters from Disney’s Inside Out, this activity encourages children to envision their own Brain Headquarters, where emotions, memories and thoughts come to life. It’s a wonderful tool for building self-awareness and unleashing creativity.

Inside ME! is our exciting series of resources designed to celebrate and support Children’s Mental Health Week 2025. This engaging series helps children explore their emotions and uncover more about themselves through creativity and self-expression. Featuring a mix of fun, free and members-only resources, Inside ME! is perfect for schools, families and professionals seeking meaningful ways to support their children's emotional growth.

Children's Mental Health Week 2025

This resource has been developed to align with Children's Mental Health Week 2025, running from 3rd-9th February. This year’s theme, Know Yourself to Grow Yourself, focuses on helping children understand their emotions and inner world as a foundation for personal growth and resilience.

This Year's Theme

With Place2Be partnering with Walt Disney and Inside Out, this year’s theme encourages children to reflect on their feelings, memories and sense of self. Our Brain Headquarters activity ties seamlessly into this, inviting children to think creatively about how their mind works and how their thoughts, feelings and memories interact.

How This Resource Aligns with Children's Mental Health Week

Inside ME! - Brain Headquarters helps children visualise their inner emotional world, promoting emotional literacy and self-expression. This activity encourages mindfulness, empathy and self-awareness, aligning with the goals of Children's Mental Health Week to empower children to understand and manage their feelings.

How to use this resource alongside Disney's Inside Out

Use Disney’s Inside Out as inspiration to explore what your children's Brain Headquarters might look like! Is it colourful and vibrant like Riley’s, with a control panel for emotions and a special space for memories? Perhaps it’s a cozy bedroom, a paradise island or even a magical treehouse where emotions and memories live. It could be a futuristic command centre with flashing buttons and levers, a rocket ship with emotion controls or a beautiful garden where thoughts bloom like flowers. Encourage children to get creative and design a space that reflects their personality and emotional world!
