Resource Info
Did you know that around 92% of the reported news is bad news? Bad news sells and it is hard to avoid. When news of war, and conflict, death or financial hardship make the news, these stories can suddenly be everywhere. Children can overhear adults talking, or come across upsetting videos on their tablets and devices. How can you help children feel calm after they have heard or seen the news? How can we talk through what we have seen in a safe and supportive way?
Our worksheets can help children communicate their main worries from what they saw on the news, leading to honest and open discussion. Our Happy News worksheet can help children turn the tables on the bad news agenda by sharing and focusing on their own Happy News!
