Resource Info

This apologising worksheet for kids is all about helping children realise how apologising makes us feel and the positive mental health benefits of taking responsibility for our actions.

Directions: Ask your child to think of a time they said sorry and draw it in the box. Then, ask them to rate how they felt before and after they apologised with our emotion scale. What do they notice?

Key features and benefits:

Creative expression and art therapy – the act of drawing can help children to feel calm, to reflect and to feel grounded and present.
Teach the importance of apologising for mental health and promote the positive benefits of saying sorry.
Help children learn to acknowledge and take responsibility for their actions and behaviours.
Use as a discussion tool to talk about the complex emotion of guilt and how apologising makes us and others feel.
