Resource Info

Studies show that higher levels of screen use in children is associated with reduced physical activity, increased risk of depression, and lower wellbeing. The allure of screens for many children is too much and we know from personal experience the tantrums and outbursts that can result from too much screen time - but also no screen time at all!

Screen time can offer lots of benefits too – such as learning and development and mindfulness apps. So how do we strike a balance and help children use their screens in a healthy way? This is why we have created our Healthy Screen Time Habits Resource Pack!

Recognising the potential negative impacts of excessive screen use, this resource pack aims to promote positive screen habits from an early age.

About this resource:

Our screen time activity kit is all about helping your children understand how screens make them feel and help them plan and manage their screen time. From our Screen Time Vouchers which can be used as a reward system or time management system to our Screen Time Checklist, which gives your child brain busting things to do on their screens!

Benefits:

• Promotes productive and educational screen time.
• Emphasises the importance of establishing healthy screen habits from a young age, striking a balance between screen use and other activities.
• The resource pack promotes using screens as tools for learning and personal growth, encouraging children to explore educational content and engage in meaningful activities.
• By limiting screen time and promoting healthy habits, the resource pack aims to improve children's mental health, reducing the risk of excessive screen use-related issues such as depression and reduced wellbeing.
• Equips parents, professionals, and teachers with tools and information to guide children in developing healthy screen habits.
