About This Resource
The "My Vision Board" activity is a creative and reflective tool that allows students to visualise their goals and achievements for the school year. With spaces to fill in their aspirations, goals and dreams, this resource helps students think about what they want to achieve and how they can work towards those milestones. By the end of the year, students can look back on their Vision Board to see how far they've come, reinforcing a growth mindset and a sense of accomplishment.
How to Use
- Set the Stage: Begin by discussing the concept of a Vision Board with your students, explaining how visualising goals can help in achieving them. Encourage them to think about what they want to accomplish this school year, both academically and personally.
- Create the Vision Board: Provide students with the "My Vision Board" template. They can fill in the spaces with drawings or words that represent their goals and dreams. Encourage creativity—this is their unique vision for the year!
- Goal Setting: Guide students to break down their big dreams into smaller, actionable goals. For instance, if a student wants to improve in a particular subject, they might set smaller goals like "study for 30 minutes daily" or "ask questions in class."
- Display and Review: Once completed, students can hang their Vision Boards in their rooms or keep them in a folder to regularly remind themselves of their goals. Periodically review the Vision Board with them to discuss progress and any new goals they want to add.
- End-of-Year Reflection: At the end of the school year, revisit the Vision Board with your students. Reflect on their achievements, discuss what they've learned, and celebrate their progress, reinforcing a positive and growth-oriented mindset.
Benefits
- Encourages Goal Setting: This resource helps students set clear, achievable goals, fostering a sense of purpose and direction for the school year.
- Promotes Positive Visualisation: By visualising their dreams and goals, students are more likely to stay motivated and focused throughout the year.
- Supports Emotional Well-being: Creating a Vision Board encourages self-reflection, which can be empowering and boost self-esteem as students see their potential and progress.
