Coping Skills Fortune Teller - A Fun, Interactive Way to Practice Self-Regulation!
This Coping Skills Fortune Teller is a playful, interactive tool designed to help children practise self-regulation and emotional control using the Zones of Regulation framework. By combining fun with learning, this activity provides children with helpful coping strategies to manage their emotions.
This resource uses the Zones of Regulation to encourage children to identify their current emotional state and explore coping strategies that align with their emotions. But it can also be used without the Zones of Regulation too! Using a fortune teller format that some children may already be familiar with, children will choose the emotion that best describes how they are feeling and open the corresponding flap to discover a coping skill designed to help them manage that emotion.

- Choose an Emotion: Ask your child to select the emotion they are feeling.
- Reveal a Coping Skill: Open the flap corresponding to the chosen colour and emotion, and encourage your child to complete the coping skill listed inside.
- Repeat: Continue the process as needed to explore different emotions and strategies for regulation.
