Mindful Minute Flashcards - Calm in 60 Seconds - FREE!
Our Mindful Minute Flashcards are designed to help children regulate their bodies, focus their attention, and build emotional awareness. Each card invites just one minute of movement, noticing, breathing, or imagination - long enough to make a difference and short enough to feel manageable.
There is no “right way” to use these cards. Children don’t need to sit still, empty their minds, or explain how they feel. The cards work by gently guiding the nervous system through simple, engaging activities that support calm, focus, and connection.
What these cards are designed to do:
- Help children release excess energy and settle their bodies.
- Build awareness of sensations, breathing, thoughts, and feelings.
- Support emotional regulation through movement, rhythm, and grounding.
- Encourage focus and attention.
- Offer simple tools children can return to again and again.
We’ve also included a poster or slide to use during your mindful minute, offering a clear visual cue and helping create a familiar routine.

How to use:
- Choose one card and set a timer for 60 seconds before you begin - setting a timer gives children a predictable structure, helping their nervous system feel safe and settled.
- Pick a card at random - read the card aloud or invite the child to read it themselves.
- Let the child complete the activity in their own way.
- If a card doesn’t feel right in the moment, simply choose a different one.
- Cards can be used anytime: during transitions, after big feelings, before learning, or as part of a daily routine.
You may wish to model the activity alongside the child, especially at first, or allow them to explore it independently. Some children enjoy repeating the same card, while others prefer variety, both are okay.
