Be Happy Summer Camp – Week Two, Activity Two – My Safe Shelter
Create a Safe Shelter
Encourage children to explore what helps them feel safe, calm and happy with our Shelter Builder activity. Children are invited to design and decorate their very own imaginary safe space, filling it with the people, objects, colours and special touches that help them feel relaxed and secure.
Whether it's a magical castle, a cosy tent, a treehouse or a secret den, this creative activity helps children develop emotional awareness, recognise their own sources of comfort and understand the importance of having a place - real or imagined -where they can recharge.
Perfect for classrooms, wellbeing sessions, nurture groups, counselling activities or home learning, Shelter Builder combines creativity, imagination and emotional wellbeing to help children build confidence, resilience and self-awareness in a fun and engaging way.
This activity can also be used as a standalone printable, so you can use it even if you're not taking part in this year's Summer Camp - simply discard the first page and enjoy!
