Be Happy Summer Camp – Week Three, Activity One – My Thought Knot

Knot Master Badge – My Thought Knot

Help children explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, creative and engaging way with our Knot Master Badge – My Thought Knot activity. Children write one thought, feeling, question or worry onto each paper strip before cutting them out, tangling them together into one big paper knot and slowly untangling them again through meaningful conversation.

Using the simple metaphor of a tangled knot, this unique activity helps children understand that our minds can sometimes feel busy or overwhelming, but talking about our thoughts one at a time can help us make sense of them. Whether the strips contain exciting ideas, happy memories, worries or tricky feelings, every thought becomes an opportunity for discussion, reflection and emotional growth.

Ideal for classrooms, wellbeing sessions, nurture groups, family time or one-to-one conversations, this printable resource encourages children to develop emotional awareness, communication skills and confidence in expressing themselves. It also includes conversation prompts, wellbeing tips and an optional Thought Jar activity, helping children continue talking about what's on their mind long after Summer Camp has finished.
