Focusing on what we need, and not what we want, can help to increase our mood, and some have stated, is the key to happiness.
This activity helps children identify and differentiate between things they need and things they want. By providing examples to cut and paste and encouraging children to come up with their own, this engaging wellbeing resource helps children to develop an understanding of priorities and promotes a positive mindset.
Feel-Good, Positive Thinking Resource: Focusing on needs rather than wants can contribute to an increased sense of gratitude, contentment, and lead to overall improved well-being. This activity encourages children to appreciate the importance of essential items in their lives, many of which they will already have, leading to a greater sense of satisfaction and helping them to feel appreciative and calm.
Directions: Cut out the items and objects and ask your children to sort between Needs and Wants. This is a great discussion activity too!
