My Unique Brain: Activity for Neurodiversity Celebration Week

This downloadable Neurodiversity Celebration Week resource encourages children  to celebrate the uniqueness of their own brains and embrace the diversity of minds around them. By recognising and appreciating the individual strengths, talents, and traits that make each brain special, we can embrace diversity and encourage acceptance.

Instructions:

  1. Reflect on Your Uniqueness: Encourage children to take a moment to think about what makes their brain unique. Consider their strengths, talents, interests, and personality traits that set you apart from others. Prompts you could ask include: What things do you like to learn about? What interests do you have outside of school? What books do you like to read?
  2. Decorate The Brain - Use the brain template provided and challenge children to decorate and personalise their unique brain. They can draw, write, or use collage materials to represent all the amazing things about themselves.
  3. Celebrate Uniqueness - Embrace the opportunity to showcase the diversity of your class or group's minds by asking children if they'd like to share their creations and dicuss.
  4. Or display - Why not display your class's unique brains via a celebration display? Or ask your children to share with family and friends!
