Resource Info

This mindful cut and stick activity is designed to help children create a personalised self care plan that enhances their wellbeing. Self care involves engaging in activities that nurture and support our physical, emotional and mental health.

By identifying actions that make them feel calm and happy, children can develop a self care routine that suits their individual needs and preferences. This activity encourages children to cut out action squares representing various self care activities and arrange them in order of their favourite activities on our routine map.

Key Features and benefits:

Self Care Exploration: The activity prompts children to explore and identify self care actions that bring them a sense of calm and happiness. Action squares representing different self care activities, such as reading, taking a bath, drawing, going for a walk, and more, are provided. Children can choose their favourite activities and cut out the corresponding action squares.

Personalised Routine: Children can arrange the action squares on a plan sheet in the order of their most favourite activity. This allows them to create a personalised self care routine that reflects their individual preferences and priorities. By visually organising their routine, children gain a clear understanding of the activities they can engage in to promote their well-being.
Mindfulness and Resilience: Engaging in self care activities fosters mindfulness and resilience in children. Taking time for self care helps them become more aware of their emotions, needs, and boundaries. It teaches them to prioritise their well-being and build resilience by practicing activities that recharge and rejuvenate them.

Emotional Regulation: Engaging in self care activities promotes emotional regulation by providing children with a healthy outlet for managing their emotions. Self care actions can help them relax, reduce stress, and cultivate positive emotions, contributing to their emotional well-being.

By creating a self care routine, children learn to integrate self care into their daily lives. This activity introduces the concept of self care as an essential part of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle from an early age.

Why not try all the activities one by one to find which ones help your child the most?
