Resource Info

Does your child get anxious about going to school? Or perhaps your child has Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This activity will help your child to develop calming morning habits to do before school.

Build the cereal coping box into your morning routine by encouraging your child to come up with a coping strategy to do before breakfast, during breakfast and after breakfast.

We’ve provided an example below!

Before breakfast: I can write about the day ahead and my schedule.

During breakfast: I can pick an affirmation for the day and say it in my head or out loud.

After breakfast: I can put my favourite song on and dance around the kitchen!
